SilverStone debuts passive 400W PSU

Posted on Saturday, July 25 2009 @ 12:00:32 CEST by

SilverStone introduced the ST40NF, a new passively cooled 400W power supply with 80 Plus Bronze certification. It should be available next week for around 130EUR, more than double as much as a regular 400W PSU.
As a step-up from the venerable ST30NF, SilverStone’s first fan-less power supply, the newer Nightjar series ST40NF achieves its continuous power output up to 400W. This is the power level that has become the mainstream application for a new generation of silent computers. By again combining superior server-level components and advanced technical design, the ST40NF has high reliability and efficiency. It can maintain 82%~86% efficiency at 20%~100% loading, earning it 80 PLUS Bronze certification. Coupled with single PCI-E 8 pin connector and dual PCI-E 6pin connectors, the ST40NF can also support high-end graphics cards if needed. For silent enthusiasts or audio/video professionals, getting this power supply will certainly be one of the most important upgrade in completing a truly silent computing environment.
Features:
  • Fan-less thermal solution, 0 dBA acoustics.
  • Efficiency 82%~86% at 20%~100% loading with 80 PLUS Bronze certification
  • 400W continuous power output
  • Strict ±3% voltage regulation
  • Single PCI-E 8pin and dual PCI-E 6pin support High-end GPU
  • Alumnum construction
  • Server-level components
  • Support ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V
  • Active PFC
