TSMC almost back at 2008 levels

DigiTimes reports Taiwanese foundries TSMC and UMC saw their sales recover in July. TSMC's sales grew 17.5 percent sequentially to NT$30.28 billion, narrowing the gap with last year's revenue to only 1.9 percent. UMC saw its sales rise by 7 percent to NT$8.81 billion, which is 3.2 percent more than in the same period a year ago.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) saw its on-year revenue drop narrow to 1.9% in July 2009, whereas United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) enjoyed a 3.2% growth. Their monthly revenues have been rising since March.

TSMC has announced net sales for July grew 17.5% sequentially to NT$30.28 billion (US$922.6 million), but declined from NT$30.87 billion a year ago.
