AMD senior manager of advanced marketing Ian McNaughton has published links to ATI's Catalyst 9.8 drivers at the company's blog. The official launch is slated for Monday, but Ian already made them available at QuakeCon today.
Catalyst 9.8 includes enhancements specific to Performance Platforms that improve system performance in CPU bound situations. In our tests at 1680x1050 resolutions and higher, ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards, and other 2x,3x,4x CrossFireX situations benefit considerably (up to ~50% in FarCry2) when used on a platform featuring AMD Dragon Technology. Titles such as Far Cry2, H.A.W.X., Battleforge, Stalker Clear Sky, Crysis, Company of Heroes, and World in Conflict show the largest gains.
