Samsung X Series CULV laptops unveiled

Besides some new netbooks Samsung also introduced three X-series ultraportable laptops based around Intel's CULV platform, with prices starting at just 549EUR.

The Samsung X520 is a 15.6" model, it has a 1366 x 768 pixel LCD display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Windows Vista Home Premium, up to 4GB DDR3 memory, 320GB HDD, Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Ethernet, 3-in-1 memory card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, webcam, and a 6-cell li-ion battery.

All X-series notebooks feature a battery life of up to nine hours with a 6-cell battery and due to the small form factor of these systems they lack an optical drive. The X520 measures 381.9mm x 256mm x 24.0-32.4mm and weighs 2.09kg. It will be available later this month for 779EUR.

The Samsung X420 has a 14" LCD display with 1366 x 768 pixel LCD display and Intel Pentium processor, but the rest of the features of this CULV notebook are pretty similar to the X520. The X420 measures 341.9mm x 235.5mm x 23.2-31.5mm and weighs 1.76kg. Pricing of this system will be around 749EUR.

The third new ultraportable notebook is the Samsung X120, this model is priced at 549EUR. It uses a Celeron processors and has a 11.6" LCD display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Most specifications are similar to the other two notebooks, save for the fact that the X120 has a 250GB instead of 320GB HDD and that the 6-cell battery is optional. This model weighs just 1.36kg with a 4-cell battery and measures 296.5mm x 208.9mm x 25.4mm.
