Toshiba launched a 640GB portable HDD yesterday, and today news reaches us that Samsung is also working on a 640GB 2.5" S2 series drive with a USB 2.0 interface. Additionally, the Korean giant is also working on a 3.5" 2TB S3 Station external HDD.
Part of the S2 Portable series, Samsung's 640GB 2.5-inch drive has a USB 2.0 interface, a Power Saving Mode, auto backup, and SecretZone, a feature that acts as a virtual drive and secures files and folders with AES-128bit or AES-256bit encryption.

In addition to the 640GB drive, which is set to start shipping later this month, Samsung revealed that it will also be releasing a 2TB S3 Station external HDD. The 3.5-inch S3 drive is expected to debut early next year.
