Dell announced it will buy IT services firm Perot Systems for $3.6 billion in cash, a move intended to make the PC builder's IT services offerings more competitive against rivals IBM and HP.
Dell will pay approximately $30 per cash for all outstanding shares of Perot Systems, the IT services company founded by former U.S. presidential candidate Ross Perot, who is being considered for appointment to the Round Rock, Texas, personal computer and consumer electronic company's board of directors.

Perot Systems is a supplier of hardware products and information technology consulting services to a wide range of clients, including the health care industry. The company said it has a large base of customers worldwide.
