Acer chairman JT Wang told investors that the company is on target for a 10 percent sales growth for the fourth quarter of 2009. Wang believes the launch of Windows 7 and a recovering global economy will fuel PC sales.
Acer plans to launch a series of Windows 7-based PCs in the US$499 and US$599 range after this month's launch of the new operating system, Wang noted.

Acer originally expected ultra-thin models to account for 50% of its notebook shipments in the fourth quarter, but Wang reiterated previous statements that the target will not be reached until 2010. Wang also added that the company's proportion is at around 20-30% currently.
