Quad sockets vs Dual sockets

AnandTech delves into the server world with a comparison of dual socket and quad socket machines, you can check it out over here.
Do you get a few quad socket machines or (slightly less than) twice as many dual socket servers? It is not as clear cut a decision as it used to be.
