Acer president Gianfranco Lanci told WSJ that his company expects to ship more PCs than Dell sometime in the next two quarters.
"We don't expect revenue to decline this year, which is outstanding, compared to our competitors. Therefore, we're [expecting] good growth in 2010 again," Mr. Lanci said at a news conference in London.

"Between this quarter and the next, we can finally pass Dell," he added.

Dell is now the world's second-largest PC maker by shipments after Hewlett-Packard Co.

"I would expect not only to pass Dell very soon, but also to breach the gap with H-P in terms of [notebooks, netbooks and smart phones]," Mr. Lanci added.
