FUD Zilla claims the upcoming Intel X25 Value solid state disk will have read speeds of up to 170MB/s and write speeds of just 35MB/s. This new budget SSD is expected to ship later this quarter with a capacity of 40GB, pricing is unknown.
For the operation the drive needs 90mW of power when it runs and 75 mW when it sits in idle mode. You can expect that read latency should be around 65 microseconds.

The drive is supposed to bring competitive performance at a lower total cost of ownership. The X25M series still leads the way with its higher price, but it features 250MB/s read and 70MB/s write speeds.
