Acer is the most valuable Taiwanese brand

DigiTimes reports the TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) has rated Acer as the most valuable Taiwanese brand in 2009, the council appraised the brand value of Acer at approximately US$1.241 billion. Trend Micro ranks second with a value of US$1.235 billion, followed by ASUS with US$1.226 billion and HTC with US$1.203 billion.
Acer took the top position for the first time after ranking third in 2008 with a brand value of US$1.265 billion and third in 2007 with a value of US$1.069 billion. Trend Micro and Asustek Computer each slipped one place in the rankings after holding the first and second spots in 2008.
