Sony issued a recall of around 69,000 Sony VGP-AC19V17 power adapters that were shipped between September 2005 and October 2009 in the US with some VAIO All-in-One PCs and VAIO docking stations. The company explains that there's an issue with the insulation inside the AC adapter which can pose an electrical shock hazard to consumers. Sony has received four reports of short circuiting adapters, but fortunately no injuries have been reported.

The following product lines are affected:
  • All-in-one VAIO Desktop Computers
  • VAIO Docking Stations
  • VGC-LT series and VGC-JS2 series
  • VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1
  • Full details about the recall can be found over here.
