DigiTimes heard MSI is planning to axe 10 to 20 percent of its workforce in early 2010. The site claims the layoffs are aimed at eliminating employees with unsatisfactory performance and that MSI will continue to hire new employees to replace the gap. A MSI spokesperson denied the rumors.
Business units and departments with excess or overlapping staff will be the major targets, while employees responsible for netbook, notebook and graphics card sales are also under evaluation.

Since the company's layoffs are aimed at eliminating employees with unsatisfactory performance, the company will continue to hire new employees to replace the gap.
