YouTube ad sales soaring but still unprofitable?

YouTube CEO Chad Hurley revealed the video sharing website has had two spectacular quarters. Hurley stated ad sales are soaring and that the site gets more than a billion views per day, but refused to provide specific figures for YouTube's performance.

Despite its huge popularity, YouTube has been losing money for years and it's unknown how close the service is to becoming profitable.
Hurley refused to provide specific figures for YouTube's performance. But he says the company had "two spectacular quarters" and that the site gets more than a billion views a day.

YouTube has been unprofitable since Google bought it for $1.76 billion three years ago, but Google executives have indicated it is getting close to reaching the black.
