With shipments for larger-size 9- and 9.7-inch e-book readers expected to surge in 2010, PVI will concentrate on larger-size e-book panel production, including 7-, 8-, and 9.7-inch models, while AU Optronics (AUO) will concentrate on 9-inch in 2010.

PVI chairman Scott Liu has indicated that there has been considerable demand for 9.7-inch e-book readers, which are good for both for educational purposes and reading newspapers.
