Western Digital sold 16 million HDDs

HDD maker Western Digital said it shipped more than 16 million hard drives in its second financial quarter of this year.
Western Digital said it turned in revenues of $955 million, and made a net profit of $56 million in its second financial quarter. The revenues represented shipments of 16.2 million units, with demand being particularly strong in both the desktop PC and personal/digital video recorder sectors.
The company shipped 1.6 million drives into the consumer electronics market, and sold four million Serial ATA drives.
