Toshiba Tecra A11 and Tecra M11 laptops unveiled

Toshiba reveals the 15.4" Tecra A11 and 14" Tecra M11 laptops, these systems will start shipping in March 2010. Below is the press release, the full specifications of these notebooks are still unknown.
The 35.6cm (14.0”) screen and enhanced security and connectivity features of the Tecra M11 make it an ideal mobile workstation. The 39.6cm (15.4”) Tecra A11 is a fast and powerful desktop substitute, delivering full performance business computing for small, medium and large businesses, as well as users in the education market looking for a robust and powerful workhorse.

Mobile power and performance
Powered by the latest Intel® Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, both models deliver solid performance for everyday business applications, providing the ability to increase speed for demanding tasks. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology also combines with Intel® Hyper Threading to provide a powerful and efficient platform for working on multiple documents and tasks simultaneously. High-speed Hard Disk Drives (HDD) also provide storage facilities of up to 250GB.

Enhanced ergonomics also make everyday business computing easy and more comfortable. A large TouchPad on both models makes navigating documents easier and an advanced FingerPrint Reader offer an easy way to log-on or access sensitive documents. A large QWERTY keyboard is also complemented by an optional 10-digit numeric keypad – perfect for professionals who work with numeric data. Four convenient control buttons just above the keyboard provide instant access to a number of useful functions, including a presentation mode, volume control and Toshiba’s Eco Utility software, which enables users to monitor and reduce power consumption on their laptop.

Crisp, non-glossy LED backlight screens, with HD resolution, ensure that documents, spreadsheets and presentations are always bright, clearly displayed and without reflection Both laptops also offer highly convenient means of connecting to external screens or monitors, featuring an integrated Mini Display Port that enables users to easily view content on external screens with virtually no loss of quality.

Staying protected
Both models are protected by the latest Toshiba EasyGuard features, which offer high levels of security and protection for users whilst they are both in and out the office. Execute Disable Bit and Computrace® Enabled Bios mean that maximum data protection is guaranteed. To protect valuable data against accidental drops or shocks, both Tecra’s come with a 3D accelerometer hard drive protection, enabling the laptops to withstand drops from up to 70 cm.

Extensive connectivity
Integrated Wireless LAN (a/b/g/n) provides high strength Wi-Fi, making it easy and secure to access work networks via wireless hotspots, while an optional 3G Module provides high speed mobile broadband connectivity out of the office, regardless of location. Instant and easy docking on both models also provides an efficient way to connect to a range of peripheral devices simultaneously, and makes it easy to reconnect to all devices instantly if the user has been working away from their desk. Microsoft® Windows 7 Professional – life without walls

Both new Tecra models are available with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit (or Windows XP) and come equipped with Toshiba LifeSpace, an application that makes it easy to keep track of important notes, meetings and personal appointments.
