GeForce GTX 480 vs Radeon HD 5870 performance

Posted on Friday, March 05 2010 @ 15:27:18 CET by

The clip NVIDIA posted on YouTube of their GeForce GTX 480 also contains a comparison with the Radeon HD 5870. This performance comparison comes from the Unigine DX11 benchmark, it's shown to illustrate that the GeForce GTX 480 does really well in scenes with heavy tessellation and lots of visual details. Take it with a grain of salt, but the picture below shows the GeForce GTX 480 is generally quite a bit faster than the Radeon HD 5870 in this test, and in some cases it delivers more than twice as much framerates.
