Now, we are hearing that AMD is on the move and a new wave of reorganization is coming along. First and foremost, AMD is forming strategy for its Fusion CPU/GPU platform coming in 2011, by putting Godfrey Cheng as the new Director of Client Technologies Unit, i.e. official name for the lead guy that will take care of Fusion business.

Godfrey is a die-hard member of the ATI crew and served as a Director of Graphics Technologies Unit in Markham, ON. He was the guy in charge for setting the competitive strategy against companies such as nVidia and Intel, as well as worked with companies such as Samsung, Dell, Blu-ray Developer Association [Stereo 3D] and many more. As a part of the job, Godfrey is replacing Canada with Austin, Texas. His replacement in Markham will be no other than Andy Thompson, former Director of Marketing for Handheld Products at ATI Technologies, [Imageon business, now part of Qualcomm]. Andy used to run ISV Relations [DevRel] as well, but now he'll be in charge as the new Director of Graphics Technologies Unit..
