Google has offered to help hosting the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, by supplying servers and bandwidth to the project.

Exact terms of the offer have not been disclosed but Wiki Media's board of directors is considering a deal with Google and plans a meeting with the company in March.

Wiki said that its wonderful news, especially since Google doesn't require Wiki Media to do something for Google, such as placing advertising on the pages.
"Google has at least tentatively agreed to give us access to a certain number of dual Xeon servers at one or more of their data centers and with unlimited bandwidth," a Wikipedia administrator said.
