Howto upgrade a MacBook Pro HDD

Posted on Monday, May 03 2010 @ 04:25:38 CEST by

Wondering how you can upgrade the hard drive of the Apple MacBook Pro? Then check out this new guide over at ExtremeTech.
Since this story first ran in 2007, Apple has released two new versions of the MacBook Pro, each of which differs just slightly from the others. So when one PCMag staffer's unibody model recently started running low on disk space, we saw this as a golden opportunity to take a look at how owners of both that and the most recent version can expand their storage as they see fit. If you have the earliest (and most complex model), you'll find the full original set of instructions for dealing with it. But even if you have the second- or third-generation versions, you're just a few minutes and a few tools away from housing the biggest, fastest hard drive you can find or afford.
