FUD Zilla noticed Lenovo is shipping a 15.4" laptop that is cheaper than most netbooks. This 255EUR system is powerful enough for basic computing tasks, but it's up to the user to install Windows or Linux.
The Lenovo IBM 3000 G530 is a no thrills 15.4-inch notebook based on Intel's 2.2GHz Celeron 900. Agreed it is a cheap single-core, but at 2.2GHz it has enough muscle to cope with most everyday tasks. However, the dirt cheap G530 features just 1GB of memory and this could be an issue for anyone who plans to install Windows on it, and since it ships with FreeDOS it's up to consumers to install Windows or Linux. It has 160GB of storage, WLAN, DVD burner, 2 USB and a low-res 1280x800 screen.
