ASUS will soon release the Eee PC 1215N, a new NVIDIA ION based netbook with the dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor and support for the NVIDIA Optimus technology. The device has a 12.1" LCD display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, there's 4GB of RAM and the netbook even features two USB 3.0 ports. More photos at NetbookNews.
Higher graphic performance is always welcome, and on the device most graphics intensive tasks will be offloaded and handled by internal Intel GMA 3150 graphics core with an optional backup discrete graphics processing capability by a more advanced discrete NVIDIA G218 graphics. It accomplishes this with Optimus technology which is optimized for both power saving and more powerful discrete graphics solution with 16-core processing algorithm whenever it is needed.

Apart from the Optimus technology the most significant change from the 1201 is that the 1215N sports USB 3.0. If you don’t know what to look for, the USB 3.0 ports have a tell tale blue interior. There is a 3rd USB port on the other side of the unit but it is USB 2.0.
