NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 to have 200W TDP?

Posted on Friday, May 28 2010 @ 21:53:03 CEST by

FUD Zilla received word that NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTX 465 will have a 200W TDP. The launch date is slated for next week.
It’s a dual slot card as you can expect and it has two 6-pin connectors and the recommended PSU should be at least 550W. The thermal design power of a chip (TDP) is 200W, which is just 15W less than with GTX 470 card. It is still 50W less from much faster Geforce GTX 480.

The thermal threshold of this 40nm chip is 105° Celsius and this didn’t change from the GTX 470 and 480. Overall GTX 465 will simply bring a new price, and 1024MB memory instead of 1280 that GTX 470 has and its bandwidth will sink to 102.6GB/s from 133.9 GB/ with GTX 470.
