Gartner reports Samsung application processors can be found in 39.2 percent of all mobile phones sold in 2009:
Samsung Electronics Co. claimed the largest share of the global mobile phone application processor (AP) market in 2009, climbing two notches from a year earlier, according to a market researcher Wednesday.

According to Gartner Inc., Samsung , also the world's largest maker of computer memory chips, accounted for 39.2 percent of the global mobile AP market in 2009, edging out Texas Instrument Inc., the industry leader in 2008.

Japan's Renesas Technology Corp. trailed Samsung with a 27.7 percent market share last year. Dallas, U.S.-based Texas Instrument fell two spots to third place, claiming 18.9 percent, compared with a 30.9 percent share in 2008.
