Acer announced a new B series of LCD displays for business users, with sizes ranging from 17" to 27", and aspect ratios of 4:3 or 16:9. Here's the full press release:
Designed for intensive daily use, the solid Acer B Series LCD monitors perfectly meet the needs of high performing offices and professionals for exceptional graphics and optimal viewing. These monitors not only bring to the professional world the best mix of high definition graphics, excellent reliability and multi-functionality, now they also offer enhanced ergonomic features, making them ideal working companions.

Featuring height, tilt and swivel adjustments, they can be adapted to the best viewing position. To offer even greater flexibility, the tilt angle has been increased to 20 degrees up and 5 down; while the swivel angle has been raised to 45 degrees to the right and left. The height can be adjusted up to 110 mm and selected models also feature pivot functionality, allowing the monitors to be rotated up to 90° if needed. Hence the B series LCDs can always be set to the more convenient position to ensure maximum comfort for the highest productivity.

Characterised by a solid, dependable look and feel, the B series displays feature a stylish dark-grey bezel complemented by an elegant black base. Control buttons are placed on the front bezel, for seamless, intuitive use while adding a touch of refinement to the look.

To better meet businesses needs, the B series displays are available several sizes and formats, ranging from 43 cm (17”) to 69 cm (27”) and come with 4:3 aspect ratio, the perfect solution for counters and working places with space constraints, or in widescreen format with 16:9 aspect ratio, that maximizes office productivity, rendering the optimal pixel per inch ratio for viewing more data, and delivers a flawless movie experience with no black stripes.

Featuring outstanding dynamic contrast ratios – up to 12,000,000:1 in the B243HLA model – optimized by Acer Adaptive Contrast Management, these LCDs render razor-sharp images with rich colours through the enhancement of detail and gradation in bright or dim scenes. This allows users to view heavy data files or CAD applications with exceptional precision and sharp defined lines. The ultra-fast GTG response time helps avoiding the blurring effect in fast paced videos or games.

The B series are equipped with an array of ports ensuring easy connectivity to a wide range of devices: VGA; DVI with HDCP protection, ensuring full enjoyment of DRM-protected content; HDMI, providing advanced digital connectivity enabling outstanding high-definition viewing and best quality uncompressed video currently available, and USB ports that allow seamless connection of peripherals and facilitate the setting of multiple displays, ideal for display walls or when using a notebook or desktop without dual-VGA support. Also featured on selected models is DisplayPort, a digital interface designed to be used primarily between monitors and computers also enabling a daisy chain setup of multiple displays. DisplayPort delivers the best digital audio and video quality, and can transmit both HDMI and DVI signal.

Packed with technologies designed to offer dependability and premier performance, the B series monitors integrates only Class A panels with zero bright dot pixel policy to guarantee a consistent image. They are also comprehensively tested to ensure that Acer Business displays deliver high quality and performance.

Acer B series also embraces the green environmental issues via the EcoDisplay campaign, a logo that indicates low environmental impact. Acer EcoDisplays are compliant with the most stringent international standards such as EPEAT Gold, EnergyStar 5.0, TCO 5.0 and the new ISO 9241-307 certifying high quality service, lower power consumption and environmentally friendly materials.

Selected models integrate a two lamps system instead of the standard four lamps; as a result these displays consume up to 50% less power hence reducing the power costs dramatically. The range also includes a model featuring LED backlighting that can save as much as 68% power compared to standard CCFL lamps and is mercury free. Acer EcoDisplays are also free of hazardous substances, such as PVC and BFR, in casing, printed circuits laminates, connectors and internal cables, for both system and panel.

Acer B series LCD monitors feature cutting-edge display technologies to give users the best viewing experience. Acer eColor Management technology adapts the performance of the panel to different environments, light conditions and viewing preferences enabling users to fine-tune the display settings by redefining the colour precision according to the work mode: data, media, cinema or images.

Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM) dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio to achieve ultra-sharp images. Each scene is analysed to fine-tune images frame by frame and enhance colour quality, obtaining a dramatic improvement of gradation and detail, especially in dimmer and brighter scenes.

The B series displays come with a three-year bring in warranty.
