AMD Ontario based netbooks and ultraportables to arrive in Q1 2011

DigiTimes had a chat with their trusted sources at notebook makers and heard that first-tier laptop brands Acer, ASUS and HP all plan to use AMD's Ontario APUs for new netbook and ultra-thin laptops in Q1 2011.
AMD will start mass-production of its Ontario APU in early December using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC's) 40nm process

Although some market watchers are conservative about Ontario's sales performance due to weakening demand for ultra-thin notebooks and netbooks, AMD noted that the APUs' low power consumption, heat generation and price, plus strong CPU and graphics performance has already attracted several notebook players to place orders.
