Valve working on Defense of the Ancients game

Posted on Tuesday, August 10 2010 @ 20:54:30 CEST by

Jon St. Jon, the Duke Nukem voice actor, revealed on Twitter that he had a great time last week recording for DotA at Valve Software, thereby confirming rumors that the game developer is indeed working on a Defense of the Ancients game. DotA is a very popular RPG-style mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos co-developed by an anonymous guy known only as "IceFrog". He was hired by Valve in October 2008 to lead a development team.
Voiceover artist Jon St. John, the voice of Duke Nukem tweets of his work for Valve, revealing plans for a Defense of the Ancients game: "Had a great time in Seattle last week recording for DotA. The guys at ValveSoftware are awesome! Going to PAX? Might see you there - Sept3-5." Thanks Joystiq. IceFrog, developer of the original DotA modification for Warcraft III, joined Valve in October 2009, and offered indications earlier this year that a DoTA game announcement was coming soon.
