Acer seeing lower-than-anticipated laptop sales

DigiTimes reports Acer has seen a sharp drop in laptop sales:
Acer shipped under two million notebooks in July 2010, much fewer than expected mainly due to inventory adjustment, according to Taiwan-based component makers.

As Acer shipped nearly 1.5 million notebooks in the first half of August, shipments for the whole month are forecast at 3.2 million units, the sources pointed out.
