Samsung starts shipping 470 series SSDs

TC Mag spotted that Samsung has started shipping its 470 Series, a new line of 2.5" solid state disks with 30nm MLC NAND flash memory an a Samsung multi-core controller. The disks have an aluminium enclosure, SATA 3Gbps interface, TRIM support, a 1.5 million hours MTBF and a shock resistance of up to 1500G.
The SSDs also deliver maximum read/write speeds of 250/220 MB/s (170 MB/s writes for the 64GB model), and are capable of up to 31,000 IOPS (Input-output operations per second) during random writes and 21,000 IOPS for random writes.

The 64GB, 128GB and 256GB 470 Series SSDs are backed by a three-year warranty and have recommended price tags of $199, $399 and $699, respectively, and can be found in Europe @ €152.39, €294.46 and €558.57.
