Microsoft announced that as of November 1, 2010, they will increase the pricing of the Xbox Live Gold subscription in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the UK. In the US, the price of the 1 month subscription will increase from $7.99 to $9.99, while the 3 month and 12 month subscriptions will get a hike from $19.99 and $49.99 to $24.99 and $59.99, respectively.

To make up for the higher prices, Microsoft unveiled a price lock program that enables you to buy a 12 months gold membership that starts on November 1, 2010 for $39.99. This offer expires on October 31, 2010 at 11:59 P.M. and if you sign up you have to agree to an auto-renewal at the then current annual price following year one.
