Acer inclined to adopt Android for tablets

Acer president Simon Lin revealed his firm believes that tablets with Google's Android operating system will be competitive with the iPad. Additionally, Lin also shared that Android will continue to be Acer's main focus in the smartphone market.
Acer has taken a positive attitude to develop and launch tablet PCs and believes that Android-based tablets will be competitive with the iPad, said the company's Taiwan president Simon Lin.

Acer will introduce a Tablet PC based on the Wintel platform in the fourth quarter to test the market, and an Android-enabled device in early 2011, according to people familiar with the matter.
