Compal receives laptop orders from ASUS

DigiTimes reports Compal has landed its first ODM orders from Asustek. Under the agreement, Compal will manufacturing three million notebooks to be shipped in 2011.
Asustek aims to ship 10 million notebooks in 2011 and has decided on ODM partners in principle, the sources pointed out. Pegatron Technology, a maker spun off from Asustek, has landed 50% of the total shipment volume, followed by Quanta Computer with 25%, Compal with 15% and Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) with 10%, the sources indicated.
The site also heard that Compal obtained ODM orders for 2011 shipments from existing clients Acer, Dell, Lenovo, HP and Toshiba.
