Samsung Mobile Ireland manager Gary Twohig told Silicon Republic that the 10-inch Galaxy Tab will arrive next year, but that could mean that it will use Android 3.0 also known as Gingerbread and not Honeycombe, which is Android 3.5.
At IFA 2010, Samsung's mobile communications president J K Shin explained that a larger tablet will use Honeycombe, the proper name for which is Android 3.5. But he didn't say how much bigger. Gingerbread is expected to tip up in the fourth quarter while Honeycombe has no scheduled arrival date, making 3.0 the more likely contender.
