Opera Software announced that its next major release, Opera 11, will feature support for extensions. This browser is based on the now defunct Opera 10.70, the first public alpha is expected to be published soon.
Extensions will be based on the W3C Widget specifications and enable users to easily add more functions to the browser. Installation is supposed to be as easy as clicking a button on a website or dragging an extension package onto the Opera window.
