SteelSeries announced a line of Medal of Honor gaming gear, including keyboards, a mouse, mousepad and a headset:
Today, SteelSeries, and Electronic Arts, Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS), introduced a full range of licensed gaming peripherals for the new first person shooter game, Medal of Honor™. SteelSeries is providing PC edition players the choice between two distinct SteelSeries gaming keyboards: the SteelSeries 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard Medal of Honor Edition and the fully customizable SteelSeries Shift Medal of Honor Edition. To complete the desktop gaming experience, SteelSeries introduces the Xai Medal of Honor Edition mouse with a new skin to reflect the colors and tone of the game, and the smooth cloth surface of the SteelSeries QcK Warrior Edition mousepad. Rounding out the SteelSeries Medal of Honor Limited Edition line-up are two comfortable audio options with optimized soundscapes and improved features for voice communication, the SteelSeries 5Hv2 Medal of Honor Edition for PC players and the SteelSeries Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition for Xbox 360® players.

“We’re pleased to be working with EA on the first generation release of these SteelSeries licensed products. It is through our experience and collaboration with professional gaming teams, that we understand and create peripherals that offer unparalleled levels of precision and accuracy for FPS gamers,” said Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO. “Medal of Honor players will have the opportunity to experience the game armed with equipment that’s able to meet the standards of becoming and winning as an elite Tier 1 Operator.”

SteelSeries Medal of Honor Edition™ Keyboards
The SteelSeries 6Gv2 Medal of Honor Edition keyboard is indestructible and is built on half a decade of experience in designing mechanical keyboards for gaming. Its 18K-Gold plated mechanical switches and extreme anti-ghosting feature of supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard, is part of what improves a user’s ability to obtain more actions per minute (APM) than other normal keyboards on the market. The 6Gv2 incorporates SteelSeries’ Media Controls for quick, uninterrupted access to volume, mute and other audio options. The mechanical tactile system is ergonomically designed to ensure ease-of-use, while the no-click switches and iron-infused plastic the keyboard both comfortable and durable. Its switch lifetime of 50 million operations is more than 10 times the lifespan of a typical “membrane” keyboard, keeping gameplay and even typical keyboard use precise and consistent over time. The SteelSeries 6Gv2 Medal of Honor Edition will be available at game launch and has an MSRP $99.99 / €79.99.

As players hone their skills like the game’s Tier 1 Operators, they need to decide whether they crave the unaltered design of the 6Gv2 or if they need the advanced capabilities of the SteelSeries Shift Medal of Honor Edition Bundle. The Limited Edition Keyset provides an intuitive button layout, labeled keys and the ability to fully customize and remap the entire keyboard in multiple layers. The SteelSeries Shift Medal of Honor Bundle is $99.99 / €99.99 MSRP and includes the Shift base powered by SteelSeries Engine software, and the interchangeable standard QWERTY and Medal of Honor Keysets. The Medal of Honor Edition Keyset is also sold separately for $24.99 / €24.99.

SteelSeries Medal of Honor™ Edition Mouse and Surface
For FPS gamers, a keyboard is an important support piece for PC gameplay. However, for many, it is the mouse that is the tool of precision and accuracy. Skinned with Medal of Honor graphics, the SteelSeries Xai presents players with an arsenal of industry-leading technology and functionality that will not only support missions, but help to make players better and win. To accompany Xai, the SteelSeries QcK Medal of Honor Warrior Edition is made of a high-quality cloth with an optimized textured surface. The SteelSeries Medal of Honor Edition Xai and QcK Warrior Edition will also be available at game launch with an MSRP of $89.99 / €79.99 and $14.99 / €14.99.

SteelSeries Medal of Honor Edition Audio
The SteelSeries 5Hv2 Medal of Honor Edition is the PC gaming headset with optimized soundscape for gaming in a travel-friendly, hear-through design. The headset dismantles into three separate pieces and includes SteelSeries’ signature retractable microphone.

The SteelSeries Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition, presents Xbox 360 players with an advanced soundscape with the ability to pinpoint directional sounds of footsteps and weapon fire without being drowned out by the deep bass from explosions. To enhance a players audio experience, the AudioMixer provides easy access to independent audio and voice controls. The SteelSeries LiveMix feature, found within fingers reach, is the quick-button option to balance Xbox LIVE® chat with in-game audio, so that voice communication is mixed perfectly with or over the sounds of gunfire and explosions, without having to increase the volume of the headset and risk hearing damage. The SteelSeries Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition as well as the SteelSeries 5Hv2 Medal of Honor Edition will be available in early Q1 2011.
