Be Hardware heard OCZ will soon release new Vertex 2 and Agility 2 solid state disks with 25nm MLC flash memory from Intel/Micron. These disks will use the SandForce SF-1200 controller and will reportedly be available in 80GB, 160GB and 320GB capacities. Performance is expected to remain the same and prices will drop but only by about 5 percent or less.
The specs announced are identical to the 34nm models, namely 285 MB/s for sequential reads, 275 MB/s for sequential writes (250 MB continuous) and 50,000 IOPS for random writes of 4 KB blocks for the Vertex 2s against 10,000 for the Agility 2s.

It’s mainly for their lower pricing that the 25nm SSDs will make an impact but not yet unfortunately with our information on the price difference per GB being under 5% (in favour of the 25nm models).
