Techpowerup reports Super Talent is showing off a SandForce SF-1222 based USB 3.0 flash drive at CES 2011. This new storage device is capable of hitting read speeds of up to 143.3MB/s and write speeds of 63MB/s.
The device consists of a SandForce SF-1222 SSD processor with MLC NAND flash chips occupying eight channels; the SF-1222 is connected to a SATA 3 Gb/s to USB 3.0 host bridge chip. While there have been such devices in the past, this is the first time anyone has put the SandForce controller into a device this compact.
