Asustek and Pegatron slammed for work violations

DigiTimes reports Taiwan's Department of Labor of Taipei City has charged both Asustek and Pegatron for violating labor laws:
Taiwan's Department of Labor of Taipei City recently named both Asustek Computer and Pegatron Technology for violating labor laws, in which, Pegatron has been charged for allowing its employees to work more than 12 hours a day with total overtime exceeding 46 hours in a month.

Asustek is charged for extending employee working hours without a prior consensus through official meetings; in addition, the company was also charged with not providing any channels for employees to report complaints.

In addition to Pegatron and Asustek, Siemens Taiwan, Game Flier International, AOpen, Twinhead International, Advantech, Genuine C&C and Allison Test Lab were all charged with violations and will be given penalties ranging from NT$6,000-60,000 (US$206-2,063).
