CHW has published an extensive interview to Youness Alaoui, a.k.a. “KaKaRoTo“, the man behind PS3 first Custom Firmware He talks extensively about PS3 lawsuits, the boundaries of freedom, and provides a deep technical background on the process of signing up homebrew apps for the PS3.
I also believe strongly on the fact that although you own your PS3 and you should be able to do what you want with it, you do not own the Playstation Network, it’s a service you are receiving while you abide to the service provider’s terms of use. So I think that, not only developers shouldn’t mess with the Playstation Network, but also users should act responsibly and not connect to PSN with a modified firmware. You either take the service or the console, you can’t have both.
