Scythe introduces the Universal Retention Kit 3, a new product that promises safer mounting of large and heavy CPU coolers thanks to a solid backplate-based mounting system. It's compatible with Intel LGA775/1155/1156/1366 and AMD Socket 754/939/AM2/AM2+/AM3/940 motherboards.
Scythe Universal Retention Kit 3 allows safe mounting of bigger and heavier CPU Coolers thanks to a solid backplate based mounting system. Thanks to the provided multi-socket support it is possible to use it with Intel® Socket T / LGA775, LGA1156 LGA1366 as well as new LGA1155 and AMD® Socket 754, 939, AM2, AM2+, AM3 and 940.Supplied metal Retention Bracket offers more safe and solid solution for AMD mainboards allowing even big and heavy CPU Cooler. Thanks to the supplied Push-Pin Removal Tool it is possible to remove Push-Pins from CPU Coolers more easy and fast.
Sturdy CPU Cooler Mounting Kit for AMD and Intel Sockets
Universal Retention Kit 3 allows mounting of even heavy and big CPU Coolers thanks to the sturdy Mounting System which is based on a metal backplate. Metal Retention Bracket for AMD Sockets
Thanks to the Scythe Universal Retention Kit 3 it is possible to replace the standard plastic Retention Bracket that comes with the mainboard against a more solid metal Retention Bracket. Thus allows higher contact pressure and mounting of bigger and heavier CPU Cooler without having the apprehension of broken retention bracket.

Universal Retention Kit 3 comes with the useful Push-Pin Removal Tool which allows easy and fast detachment of Push-Pins from CPU Coolers.
Replacement Brackets for Scythe CPU Coolers
This Retention Kit may be used in combination with Scythe CPU Coolers in case of loss of mounting brackets, as a stable backplate based mounting system and in some cases even for upgrades to newer sockets.
