Intel to retire old 45nm chips

TC Mag noticed Intel will phase out various 45nm desktop processors, including the the Pentium E5400, E6500, the Core 2 Duo E7400, E8400, and the quad-core Core 2 Quad Q8300, Q8400, Q8400S, Q9505, Q9550, Q9550S and Q9650.
The boxed versions of all these chips (and the tray Core 2 Quads and E5400) will be available for orders up till August 26, 2011, and will ship until the supplies are depleted (tray processors will stop shipping on February 10, 2012).

In a related retirement note, Intel will halt orders for the boxed Core i5-750 (45nm Lynnfield, LG1156) on August 26, and continue shipping these quads while supplies last.
