Tyan introduced a new quad-socket G34 server motherboard and barebone server for AMD's latest Opteron 6100 series eight- and twelve-core processors.
TYAN, an industry-leading server platform manufacturer, and a subsidiary of MiTAC International Corp., today launched a new 4U server system designed for CPU-intensive and HPC applications that supports four AMD® Opteron™ 6100 series processors. TYAN offers both the 4-way S8812WGM3NR motherboard, as well as the B8821F48W8R server platform.

Quad Socket G34 Motherboard - S8812WGM3NR
The TYAN S8812WGM3NR server motherboard is based on the AMD SR5690 chipset and supports up to four twelve/eight-core Opteron 6100 series processors. The four processors share data via HyperTransport™ (HT3) links at 6.4 GT/s. The S8812WGM3NR also supports four-channel memory with eight DIMM slots per processor to provide up to 512 GB of registered DDR3 memory. Both 1.5V and 1.35V (low power) memory modules are supported. An on-board LSI SAS2008 controller provides up to eight 6Gb/s SAS ports for server-class storage connectivity. Other features include four PCI-E 2.0 slots, three 1-GbE network ports, and integrated IPMI 2.0 support via an AST2050 BMC controller.

Barebone Server System - B8812F48W8HR
“Our newest 4-way server supports up to 48 processing cores in a single system, providing the most powerful High-Performance Computing (HPC) platform TYAN has offered to date. We designed this system specifically to provide best-of-class performance for processor-intensive HPC applications,” stated TYAN’s Director of Product Marketing, Kevin Hart. The barebone system includes a 4U enclosure, dual 770W power supplies, and the S8812WGM3NR motherboard. The system supports eight hot-swappable 3.5” hard disks, along with three 5.25” drive bays, and is cooled by six redundant 120mm fans that are automatically controlled by thermal sensors to save power and reduce noise.

The S8812WGM3NR motherboard has received VMware certification. Both products are available now through TYAN distributors worldwide. OEM pricing is available on request.
