ECS shows off 8-inch eReader with Android

ECS is showcasing its Eliot EB-800C eReader at CeBIT. This 8-inch device weighs 347g and features a 1024 x 768 pixel e-paper screen, it offers 16 shades of grey and is equipped with projected capacitive touch technology.

For the processor ECS picked Marvell's 800MHz PXA 166e and the operating system is Android 2.1. The eReader is equipped with 256MB DDR memory and supports microSD memory cards of up to 16GB. Content can be transferred via Micro-USB, WiFi, Bluetooth or via the optional 3G functionality.

Besides reading books, you can also use the Eliot EB-800C to play music of surf the Internet. Pricing is expected to be around 200-250EUR.
