got its hands on the pricing of Plextor's upcoming M2S, a new solid state disk with Marvell's SATA 6Gbps 88SS9174 controller.
The M2S Series SSDs have a 2.5-inch form factor, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a Marvell 88SS9174 controller, 128MB of DDR3 memory (as cache), MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips, and are capable of read and write speeds of up to 480 MB/s and 330 MB/s. Actually, only the 256GB model will reach those numbers as the 128GB and 64GB drives are said to top 420/210 MB/s and 370/110 MB/s, respectively, when reading/writing.
The M2S drives also feature TRIM support and will be backed by a three-year warranty. Those interested will find them priced at €169.90 (64GB), €299.90 (!28GB) and €589 (256GB).
