Plextor introduced two new USB 3.0 HDDs with an aircraft grade aluminium enclosure. A 500GB version will hit the market later this month for 99EUR while a 750GB model will follow in April for 135EUR.
The PX-PH500U3 is a strikingly compact 500GB portable hard disk. Formed of perfect aluminum it incorporates the latest SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface for exceedingly fast connection and data transfer rates. Thunderbolt may exist alongside USB 3 and it will have its uses, but USB 3 is going to be, by far, the more widely spread high speed interface for the next 5 years.
