Acer and Asustek expect boost in revenue from tablets

DigiTimes reports Acer and Asustek expect tablets will provide a boost to their revenue, although market watchers remain convervative about the potential.
Taiwan-based notebook brand vendors Acer and Asustek Computer are both optimistic about their tablet PC products can boost their revenues in the second quarter; however, market watchers still remain conservative about the revenue growth that the tablet PCs can bring.

Acer expects its tablet PCs, which have already started shipping in March and will have even more models to be launched in the second quarter, will see strong shipment increase in the second quarter, while Asustek expects its Eee Pad series will contribute about 5% of its second-quarter revenues.
