ASUS suffering from touch panel shortages

DigiTimes writes ASUS may be able to produce only half of the 200,000 Eee Pad Transformer tablets it has landed orders in April for due to a shortage of touchpanel related components.
As Asustek internally expects to be able to resolve the shortage problem within the next two weeks, the company should be able to significantly reduce the shortage gap in May and if both shipments in May and June reach the company's expectations, the company will still be able to achieve its goal of seeing the tablet PC business contributing 5% of the total revenues in the second quarter, the paper added.
