EMC launched its Invista storage network virtualization platform, which will become available next quarter. The product is designed to operate with disks from Brocade, Cisco and McData.

Invista will cost $225,000 and will allow users to retrieve data without knowing exactly where in the storage network the information is resided. EMC says this will speed up service, increase storage capacity and flexibility and avoid downtime if a network collapses.
