EE Times reports AMD is collaborating with Northeastern University on an OpenCL textbook:
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has collaborated with Northeastern University on the preparation of a book entitled Heterogeneous Computing with OpenCL that is due to be published by Morgan Kaufmann in August 2011.

The book discusses OpenCL experiences and details multiple device architectures and application programming interfaces (APIs), from multi-core CPUs, GPUs and integrated Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) such as AMD's Fusion APU technology, to fundamental parallel algorithms. It provides examples that illustrate the application of OpenCL to handle image processing, web plug-ins, random number generation, video processing and more, AMD (Sunnyvale, Calif.) said.
